23 September 2008 - SITC Governance, Risk & Compliance Inaugural Event - The new SITC GRC SIG held its first event on the morning of 23 September 2008 at the HSBC Commercial Centre in Reading. Presentations covered the user requirements (effect), software tools to help companies manage risk (management)and software that actively manages particular aspects of security and compliance on the network (sensors). 23 September 2008 - European Security Partnering & Funding Event - The new SITC EU SIG held its first event on the afternoon of 23 September 2008 at the HSBC Commercial Centre in Reading. Presentations covered the current and future opportunities to form collaborations to bid for R&D funding under the EUs Seventh Framework Programme'>FP7 Security and ICT the themes, the advice and support services that are available, and plans to develop linkages with other EU regions with strong security industry clusters. 6 February 2007 - European Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection 2007 call opens - The EPCIP 2007 call is for a 3 Million Euro Pilot Project open to: operators of critical infrastructure; regulators; professional bodies and business/industry associations; standardisation bodies; and those responsible for critical infrastructures. The EU contribution will be 70% of all eligible project costs. The deadline for submission of the proposals is the 29 March 2007. 5 January 2007 - EPSRC Fighing Crime, Increasing Security Projects Published - The EPSRC has announced the results of its recent Fighting Crime, Increasing Security call. Security KIN would like to congratulate the successful project teams and remind them that we are still able to assist any SEEDA-based Small or Medium Sized Enterprise involved in commercialise the results of this research with the support of SEEDA Proof of Concept funding. 22 December 2006 - EU Framework Programme 7 Security Call Announced - The EC has announced details of its first 80.3 Million Euro call for Security Research under Framework Programme 7 with an emphasis on boarder security and the security of critical national infrastructures and utilities. 19 January 2007 - Consultation on SEEDA Support for the Security Sector - Security professionals are invited to comment on new proposals being developed for future SEEDA support for the Security Sector.
